For those who have been missing The Nightmare Before Christmas, wait no longer as a new film, Coraline which uses the same stop motion animated technic that made both movies so unique.
The short synopsis accompanied with the official trailer:Coraline Jones (Dakota Fanning) is bored in her new home until she finds a secret door and discovers an alternate version of her life on the other side. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life and the people in it only much better. But when this seemingly perfect world turns dangerous, and her other parents (including her Other Mother voiced by Teri Hatcher) try to trap her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination and bravery to escape this increasingly perilous world and save her family.
According to Malaysia Seventeen magazine, the movie will be screened starting on 17 September this year.

For me, I wish I lived in the world of Harry Potter where magic is part of your everyday life and you get to call non magic folk- Muggles. Maybe I can walk around with a smug look on my face knowing that these Muggle people have no idea what is happening and our lives were so much better than theirs.
When Joanne Rowling wrote the Harry Potter series, she revived the book reading culture and the Harry Potter fever was caught by almost everybody in the world. Secretly wishing that I could just summon a broomstick or turn on the spot to arrive at my destination in a split second will definitely be a good dream.
To get a chance to study in Hogwarts (a magic school) and learn much more interesting subjects like Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfigurationwhere you can change objects or even yourself to anything you fancy) and Care of Magical Creatures.
As an animal lover, I certainly would have some problems liking some of the animals or shall I say creatures in the wizarding world. In our real world, the animals do not breathe fire or try to eat you up. Some creatures like the humongous spiders that live in the Forbidden Forest that are called Acromantulas and Lethifolds which looks like a black cloak and eats you whole. There are some pretty adorable creatures like Nifflers which are attracted to shiny things and Puffskeins which loves children and thus making a great pet.
It is not all fun living as a wizard or witch though as we should not forget that there are some who are corrupted by power and is purely evil. Lord Voldemort reign and everyone lived in fear before he died.
I find that Joanne Rowling’s story is partially based on truth like how she created the wizard world that is totally different from the muggle world. In real life, even though we live in the same place we tend to not mingle just because we are different. Everything is not perfect but I would still love to live there if I had a chance.

I heard the most shocking news today about Viggo Mortensen. The worst news that we hear in showbiz. He is quiting as an actor. (A moment of silence)
According to WorstPreviews, Viggo's health is being impacted by all the traveling and work in promoting his films. He will officially quit after finish filming his upcoming movies, one of them being "The Road".
After much thought, I still could not choose whether to review Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers or The Return of the King from The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I had to make up my mind and chose The Fellowship of the Ring at last. The beginning of every story is rather important as without a beginning there is no end.
Before the Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (FOTR) came out, I myself had never heard of this popular classic or even the much acclaimed director, Peter Jackson. There was so much hype about this movie adaption, I figured I should watch it and experience it myself. I was treated to a three hour plus long magical adventure that reminds me a bit of the Harry Potter series after a couple of times or vice versa.
The cast consist of Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom, who were relatively unknown. They became stars almost overnight with one movie. Some important characters that should be noted are hobbits Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee (Elijah Wood and Sean Astin), the wizard Gandalf, Ian McKellen and Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn.
In my opinion, what made this movie such a huge success was that it was almost flawless. Time flies when you are with the fellowship in Mines of Moria, gasping at the goblins sudden attacks and the realization that they were hugely overpowered. After that, you feel your eyes get wet and you start sniffling when the Fellowship start off with nine and come out of the mines with only eight. The young hobbits, Frodo (Elijah Wood), Sam (Sean Astin), Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin (Billy Boyd,) who start out the journey carefree and innocent now harden up with shock and realization that the quest is extremely dangerous. With a swarm of goblins hot on their heels, it leaves them no time to grieve for their fallen member but to travel on as fast as possible to evade them. All these exciting adventures, as you might call it, happen near the end of the movie of course.
At the beginning, FOTR starts of with a much more pleasant introduction but hints at the dark paths that lay ahead. A few minutes of prologue about the legend of the ring (the most important item) for those who did not know the story beforehand like me. After that, a cheerful Bilbo Baggins celebrates his one hundred and eleventh birthday in the Shire. The plot takes a darker twist from there when he mysteriously disappeared and gave Frodo Baggins (the hero!) the ring to keep. I shall not reveal anymore of this exciting plot as you should watch it yourself and do not be surprised if you will rush to get your hands on The Two Towers and The Return of the King.
My ratings you ask? Ten thumbs up! Well if I had ten of course.
What I know at the end of the day is that FOTR became a big hit while staying true to the book. It leaves fans like me wanting more.
